CrimeGrid does not require an account. Puzzle placements, notes, hint count, and completion status are stored locally in your browser. They are not transmitted by the game.
Local progress
You can remove local progress by resetting a case or clearing this site's browser storage. A materially changed case revision starts fresh rather than silently applying an incompatible save.
Website measurement
The public beta may use Cloudflare Web Analytics for aggregate page and performance measurement. CrimeGrid does not send placements, clue text, culprit answers, or persistent gameplay identifiers as analytics events.
Sharing
The share button creates spoiler-free text and a case URL. It does not include your placements or the case answer.
Future services
Accounts, newsletters, payments, and community publishing are not part of this beta. Any future addition will require a separate privacy review and updated notice.
